Directions to Riverwalk Vista Inn

From Houston:
Take I-10 W to I-37 North. Exit Commerce St. and take a left. Follow directions above once on Commerce heading west. 

From Austin:
Take I-37 South to the Commerce St. Exit. Exit Commerce to the right and continue to Alamo Plaza. Take a right on Alamo Plaza and a left at the first street, which is E. Crockett. Take a left onto Losoya and proceed to the Commercial Loading Zone found on your left. This space is located between the Subway and Fuddruckers signs. We have a red awning and two potted plants at the base of our stairs. 

From the Airport:
Take I-37 South to the Commerce St. Exit. Exit Commerce to the right and continue to Alamo Plaza. Take a right on Alamo Plaza and a left at the first street, which is E. Crockett. Take a left onto Losoya and proceed to the Commercial Loading Zone found on your left. This space is located between the Subway and Fuddruckers signs. Parking Directions:
The Riverwalk Vista recommends a 24-hour city garage located half block from the property. Guest pays the garage directly (cash or credit card) the normal rate $12-$15 a day, but can range on weekends or holidays. 

Hotel Amenities

Do you provide valet parking and bell service?
We do not provide valet service. The Innkeepers and night watchman are always happy to assist with unloading. If you have special needs, please advise us before your arrival.

Are you on the Riverwalk?
We are street level and at the center of the Riverwalk. From our front door the guest proceeds across the street and takes Commerce St. stairway descending to the Riverwalk. We are only a two-block distance from the Alamo, and a three-minute walk from the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.

Do you have any rooms with two double beds?
All of our rooms have just one bed. Two rooms are king size and all others are queen size. Only queen suites can comfortably accommodate a rollaway. For larger groups, we do have Sarah’s Suite. This is a two-room queen suite, one room has a queen bed, and the sitting has a sofa sleeper, along with 2 baths, 2 entertainments centers, and 2 closets. Sarah’s sitting room is only sold as an addition to Sarah’s Suite and not sold on its own.

Do you have tubs or Jacuzzis?
No, we have beautiful large walk-in slate tiled showers.

What is the difference between a standard room and a suite?
The only differences in the suites aside from the views are that the suites are larger rooms. All rooms have identical amenities.

Do you provide any non-smoking rooms?
The Riverwalk Vista is a non-smoking property. This is done to protect our historic building as well as create a wonderful atmosphere for all. Persons smoking or using any open-flame on premises are subject to a fine of $200 per incident.

Do you have a restaurant and bar?
We provide a continental breakfast each morning from 8am-10am, an afternoon snack beginning at 3pm and a glass of wine is offered between 5pm-8pm nightly. Our continental breakfast consists of coffees, hot teas, seasonal fruits, breakfast bread, bagels, English muffins, yogurts, cold cereals, hot cereals, juices, boiled eggs, salsa, and at least one hot dish. There are a multitude of restaurants and bars within a very short distance of the Vista to fulfill your needs. The Innkeepers are always happy to assist any guest with lunch and dinner reservations along the Riverwalk or any restaurant in the city. Please ask us for our recommendations for the type of meals you are looking for or visit the restaurant page for information.

Do the rooms have balconies?
The Riverwalk Vista is a historical 1880s building and does not have balconies.

Do you have a pool or fitness center?
During their stay with us, guests receive access to the pool at our sister property, El Tropicano. All guests are also welcomed during their stay to use Strive, our state of the art fitness studio complimentary at the same location.

Do you offer a business center and conference room?
High Speed Wireless Internet is complimentary in every room. For those who may not have a laptop with them, a computer is provided for their use in our business center.  The Riverwalk Vista has a conference room that can seat up to 14 people, and may be reserved on a daily basis. Rates are $150.00 for full day and $100.00 for a half-day’s use.

What is your cancellation policy?
Deposit Policy
All Reservations require a one-night stay credit card deposit at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy
Your deposit is refundable less a $15.00 handling fee if you cancel more than 10 days prior to your arrival. The full balance of the reservation becomes non-refundable if you cancel the 10th day prior or within 10 days of your arrival date. Shortening of your reservation is allowed before the 10th day prior to arrival, excluding minimum night stay requirements. If reservation length is shortened within 10 days of your arrival then the guest is responsible for the entire stay booked including early departures. Extensions to your stay may be made at any time, based on availability.

Check-in time after 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Check-out time before 11:00 a.m. Rates subject to change. Property is completely non smoking. Property Suitable for Children. No pets allowed. Extra Adult $30. Extra person fee will be waived if the guest books a roll-away. Extra Child $30. Extra child fee will be waived if the guest books a roll-away or pack and play. Adult Roll-away $30. Child Roll-away $30. Self Parking $12-16. Late Checkout $50. Late checkout is only available upon availability.

Do you offer AAA or any other discounts?
Yes, we do offer AAA and AARP members 10% discounts. The Riverwalk Vista is a 17-room Boutique Inn. Group and corporate rates may be negotiated on case-by-case bases. Any promotional rates will be posted on our website.

Do you allow pets?
We love pets; unfortunately we do not allow them. But we do provide a stuffed teddy bear in every room.

Where do we unload?
You may park in the garage first and roll your luggage the half block to the hotel entrance. If you have a lot of luggage, there is a commercial vehicle loading zone in front of the property where you may stop briefly, but you may not leave your car there, as the city will ticket you without a commercial sticker on your vehicle. Innkeepers are happy to assist with unloading, but it must be done promptly. If you need help, press the call button on the door phone and notify an Innkeeper you need assistance.

What if we check in after 5:00 pm?
There is an Innkeeper or night watchman on property at all times, so someone will be here to assist you with registration and your luggage if necessary. Simply press the door phone for access, providing us with the last name of the reservation.

How do we check in?
Normal check-in time is between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Early check-ins are permitted if your room is ready prior to 3:00 p.m. If your room is not ready, the Innkeeper may hold your luggage until it is.

How do we check-in to the Riverwalk Vista Inn?
Riverwalk Vista's check-in time is between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Early check-ins are permitted if your room is ready prior to 3:00 p.m. If your room is not ready, the Riverwalk Vista Innkeeper may hold your luggage until your room is available.
